Landmark Group CEO Mark Hawthorn named as Property Week RESI Trailblazer 2020

The CEO of Landmark Group, Mark Hawthorn, has been awarded a place on the prestigious RESI Trailblazers 2020 list.

This year’s accolade from Property Week celebrates the disruptors, innovators, and entrepreneurs that are driving the residential property industry forward despite the challenges and pressures caused by Covid-19.

Featuring on the RESI Trailblazer 2020 list outlines Mark’s achievement in creating a unique sales guarantee service for SME housebuilders and their lenders.

The LDS Sales Guarantee removes demand and pricing risk from new housing developments, which in turn empowers developers to access better lending terms, get onsite quicker, and increase the number of new homes built.

This service is set to transform development finance, revive the SME housebuilding sector, and help to solve the UK’s housing shortage.

During lockdown, Mark and his team have used proptech to create an online Sales Guarantee Engine for lenders, brokers and developers to produce their own proposals in under two minutes.

Mark Hawthorn has been working in resi since the age of 16, and founded what is now Landmark Group –– aged just 19, with no capital.  Landmark are now on course to own £150m of assets by the end of 2020. The announcement from Property Week follows a record-breaking year for Landmark Investments, which has raised more than £70m of new debt so far in 2020 alone.

When asked by Property Week to share his mantra with readers, Mark said: “Work smarter and harder, refuse to choose between quantity and quality as both can be achieved.”
